CORRIGENDUM
(To Advertisement No.315 dated 20.03.2021 for recruitment
to the post of Fireman-A)
The sequence
of Selection process mentioned in Clause 10 of General Conditions/ Instructions
in the Advertisement No.315 dated 20.03.2021 for selection to the
post of Fireman-A [Post no. 1474] has been revised/amended by the
Competent Authority and the details are as follows: -
1.
The applicants should submit a Preliminary
Medical Examination [PME] certificate in the prescribed format [Annexure A],
issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner not below the rank of Assistant
Surgeon (Allopathy) employed in Government Health Services. The Preliminary
Medical Examination [PME] certificate shall be valid for a period of six
months.
2.
After scrutiny of applications with reference
to eligibility criteria, eligible candidates shall be called for written test. Those who have not submitted Preliminary
Medical Examination [PME] certificate will not be called for Written Test.
3.
Candidates shall be shortlisted for Physical
Efficiency Test (PET) in the ratio of 1:50 to the number of vacancies based on Written
Test Score. In case any of the short-listed candidates do not meet the Physical
Standards as per the PME, such candidates will be omitted from short-listing
for PET and candidates down in the merit list will be called for PET to achieve
the ratio of 1:50.
4.
The Preliminary Medical Examination [PME]
certificate should be valid at the time of PET.
5.
Shortlisted candidates shall undergo Stage-1
PET [1 event] and those qualify shall undergo Stage-2 PET [4 events ] as per Annexure B.
6.
Those who qualify in Stage-2 PET shall further
undergo Detailed Medical Examination [DME].
7.
Those who qualify in Detailed Medical
Examination [DME] shall be considered for empanelment in the order of written
test marks taking into account the vacancy notified in the Advertisement.
8.
There is no change in the qualifying criteria
prescribed in the original advertisement dated 20.03.2021.
Therefore,
the applicants who have applied online against Advertisement no. 315 dated
20.03.2021 and received a valid registration number for the post of Fireman-A
are required to upload the Preliminary
Medical Examination [PME] certificate in the prescribed format, issued by a
Registered Medical Practitioner not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon
(Allopathy) employed in Government Health Services on or before 20.03.2023
by logging into recruitment portal of VSSC website https://www.vssc.gov.in with the registration number. Please
note that those candidates who have submitted the valid Preliminary Medical
Examination [PME] certificate only will be considered for further selection
process. The written test for selection to the post of Fireman-A will be
OMR based and is tentatively scheduled to be held in the month of April / May
2023 at different test centres located in Kerala.
